Janet is a retired Lancashire County Council headteacher and education adviser. She holds a Bachelor of Education with Honours and an NVQ Level 5 in Business Management.

She has chaired Waddow’s Management Committee, Friends of Waddow and the Waddow Heritage Group.

Although Janet is not currently a Girlguiding member, she previously served as County Commissioner for Girlguiding Lancashire South-East. She was a Queen’s Guide and received the Laurel Award for her service to Girlguiding.

Janet is committed to supporting change at Waddow and helping it become a centre of outstanding provision, offering adventurous experiences for young people and adults of all ages. She values Waddow’s unique opportunities and wants to preserve its strengths while developing and broadening its future offer.

Janet specialises in management and leadership. As an adviser, she was a key member of Lancashire’s Monitoring and Intervention Team. She brings broad change-management expertise, strategic thinking, a practical down-to-earth approach and a strong focus on results.
